Columbia Business School Essays and Deadlines for 2014-2015 Cycle (Including J-term)
Looks like our target schools are keeping busy, and some of them have already announced their deadlines. Columbia is a bit of a special case because they have rolling admissions and offer a January term, aka, the J-term The J-term runs straight through without an official summer internship break. It also has a binding early decision (yes, it is binding* if you get in) period.
Details and links below on the dates for all the next cycle:
Full-Time MBA Application Deadlines
All deadlines are 11:59 p.m. New York Time on the date listed.
My recommendation if you aren’t applying early decision: Submit sometime in late October, early November. You’ll hear before Christmas, which is always a bonus, and you won’t get caught up in the such for those trying to get in under the merit-scholarship wire.
***Update, May 30, 2014: quote from Matthew Moll, Associate Director of Admissions, “If you apply any time between now and mid-December, the acceptance rate is equal to that of early decision.”****
Here’s the link to the Columbia Business School essay requirements. They aren’t too different from last year, although the video is new. My advice: think “center.”
